Nathan Saucier is a filmmaker and new media artist. His work in non-fiction media has run the gamut from traditional documentary work to 360 video and virtual reality experiences. He is currently pursuing his S.M. in Comparative Media Studies at MIT, where he works as a researcher for OpenDoc Lab. His research focuses on storytelling approaches for interactive 3D environments and questions of user agency in narratives built on game engines. He is also an editor and online curator for Vivek Bald’s transmedia documentary Bengali Harlem/Lost Histories Project. Nathan’s artwork has recently harnessed the Unity platform to address pressing issues like climate change in VR.
