Meg Villarreal, Director, US Independents (USA)

Meg Villarreal is co-founder and director of US Independents, Inc. US Independents has a cooperative presence at Sunny Side of the Doc, the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers, and the History Makers Summit. She is currently consulting with First Nations Experience, a multi-platform service to tell stories by, for and about Native Americans and other indigenous societies worldwide. She is a member of the Community Advisory Board of the Maine Public Broadcasting Network, the Camden (Maine) International Film Festival, and is a past board member of The World Congress of History Producers and Women in Film and Television International. Prior to the establishment of US Independents, Meg was Associate Director of International Activities at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). She has also been a TV consultant to the government of the former Yugoslavia, and has organized and presented broadcasting seminars in Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Sweden and Switzerland.
