2009 World Congress of Science & Factual Producers : Melbourne, Australia December 1-4

David Glover, Commissioning Editor, Science, Channel 4 Television (UK)

David Glover is a Commissioning Editor in Channel 4’s Specialist Factual Department. He is Head of Science, and his recent programs include Inside Nature’s Giants, The Great Sperm Race and Surgery Live. He also commissions a range of specialist factual documentaries including Jacques Peretti’s What Really Happened? series. Amongst the programs Glover is most proud of being involved with are those made by Steve Humphries. They have worked on a number of films about 9/11, including The Miracle of Stairway B, Ground Zero Underworld, and the 9/11 Hotel, as well as two extremely moving films about the July 7, 2005 attacks on the London underground. These told the stories of ordinary passengers caught up in the events—from the miraculous survivors who stood next to the bombers and lived to tell the tale, to the extraordinary altruism of passengers who risked their lives to save strangers.
