The World Congress of Science and Factual Producers is seeking emerging producers to act as scouts, monitoring the output and audience impact* of science, history and specialist factual programming in their territories.
Each year, our opening What's the Buzz? session showcases the world's hottest science, history and factual content. Scouts will identify and source programs for this session, specifically long- and short-form content on any platform (TV, cable, SVOD, online, etc.) that represents what is trending, or is innovative in style or approach.
Scouts will also contact key executives in their territories, including commissioning editors, department heads and CEOs, as well as provide feedback and recommendations on the programs and projects submitted to the WCSFP.
The goal of this project is to welcome and encourage a new generation of Congress members.
- A track record of production experience in science, history or factual genres
- A letter of recommendation from a senior executive at their company or a senior broadcaster in the territory who is familiar with the WCSFP
- A one-page proposal outlining your research, areas of interest, suggestions of 2016 programs or content that are interesting, innovative or representative of trends in your territory
Applications are now closed. Please direct any inquiries to [email protected].
Preference will be given, but not limited to, Scouts from underrepresented and under-served territories. Successful scouts will receive registration support for the 2016 WCSFP.
*Please note, audience impact can be judged by ratings, or "hits" and level of buzz in media/social media.
